In ancient folklore the wolf is said to represent a companion or guardian. The wolf is a symbol for loyalty, honesty, justice and intelligence.

The beauty of wolves has inspired us to incorporate them into our art work. Henceforth we chose to portray "The Three Little Pigs" & "Little Red Riding Hood" from the Grimm Brother's collection - where the wolf is a recurring character.

The stories found in the Grimm Brother's collection have always fascinated us. They are best known for their published collections of folklore and fairytales. In this day and age the dark and twisted nature of their stories have been sugarcoated to meet what society deems fit for children. Therefore in this art piece, we have decided to follow in the footsteps of the Grimm Brothers and put a gruesome twist of our own on the well known fairytales.

We decided to use old books for our art work because we wanted portray the legacy of the Grimm Brothers with authenticity. The main focus of this interactive piece, is for the audience to play a part in the presentation of each illustration and to enjoy the process of doing so.

Lists of Illustration:
